How Coty gives style to brand asset collections

Earlier this year, we released some wonderful enhancements to our collections feature that allow digital asset management administrators and approved users to create elegant, stylized collections and brand portals with global collections. Stylized collections and brand portals allow collection owners and collaborators to extend digital asset collections to internal and external users within the context of a brand experience – a quality of critical importance to brand owners and the brand asset management process.

Following the release, we encouraged customers to explore the simple stylistic capabilities by participating in our Stylized Collections Contest. As a result, we collected some remarkable examples of how customers are extending the brand experience around their digital asset collections. On top of that, we hosted a webinar this summer to showcase the innovative uses of collections and sharing that we’ve seen across a broad mix of customers. (Feel free to check it out!)

Now, nearly nine months into the existence of our stylized collections capabilities, we’re seeing some fabulous usage of the feature and perhaps none more glamorous (pun intended) than those from Coty. Widen DAMster Barbara Alexander is the Global Digital Media Asset Manager for Coty.

Barbara does a great job presenting Coty brand assets within branded collections that are shared with internal marketing and sales teams and retail channels. We shared many of these great examples in our recent Connecting and Curating Content webinar as part of the #WidenSummit webinar series

Coty's unique portfolio of nearly 50 brands includes some of the most coveted beauty brands, ranging from ultra-premium luxury to entertainment. In their DAM system, they’ve got a broad mix of collections across product lines and use cases. With that, we’re happy to share with you some of the glamorous examples and use cases of stylized collections at work.

Sally Hansen Triple Shine social media collection
In our first example, internal teams hand pick assets for the “Sally Hansen Triple Shine - Social Media Collection.” It started as a shared collection, allowing the appropriate teams to “collaborate” and select assets for the Sally Hansen social media sites.

Once the curated collection was finalized, Barbara created a stylized collection to share the content with the social media team. The collection includes the cover graphics for the Sally Hansen Facebook page and YouTube channel and other brand assets used in social media.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel asset tool kit
The Sally Hansen Launch Toolkit includes training materials, brand style guides, rich media assets and other tools for their sales and retail channels to use. Notably, to legally protect them, Coty requires acceptance of an end-user license agreement, or EULA, before any assets can be downloaded from this collection.

Barbara says having all of these materials in one place helps cut down on all the back and forth with sales and retail channels. She also supplies a spreadsheet complete with product information to go along with the assets that are posted to web and print channels.

Guess Night Access cologne web banners
Here’s another example for Guess Night Access cologne web banners, which represent a great use of collections in grouping web and mobile ads.

Enrique Iglesias’ Adrenaline video collection
This collection Enrique Iglesias’ Adrenaline video assets was shared with agencies, retailers and other video channels.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate Matte collection
Lastly, we share this example featuring product closeups and color swatches for the Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss lipstick brand.

As you can see, Barbara and the Coty team do a great job using stylized collections to share their assets with internal and external partners, outside of the password-protected bounds of their Media Collective solution. The Media Collective’s stylized collections feature help Coty extend the brand experience for all of their individual brands so they can set the example for stronger brand consistency across all channels.

Request a demo to see how you can use the simple branding capabilities of the Media Collective to gain more value from your brand asset collections. Following a quick walk-through of our DAM solution with a Widen Advisor, we’re happy to turn you loose within a test site of your own!
