Ease-of-use remains top of mind with every release of the Widen Media Collective
Widen continually works to improve user interface (UI) functionality as new technology emerges. With analytics and user feedback on current use of digital asset management (DAM) sites, updates to the UI occur frequently to improve site performance and usability.
The following details some of the usability improvements with the Widen Media Collective version 7.0 release, in addition to all the new features and updates in version 7.0 highlighted here.

Search Results User Interface Changes
Search results enhancements have been made for simplification and readability purposes. Larger previews have been added for better visibility, based on customer feedback.
The Show Details and Hide Details options makes the UI cleaner on each DAM site. Users should be in hover mode to see more information about an individual asset in search results or the Show Details mode to see more information about all assets in search results. In addition, the Show Details option provides more readable area for asset thumbnail text.
To reduce the number of clicks needed to perform certain actions, administrative actions have been moved to the bottom of asset thumbnails in search results.
Badges for unreleased and expired assets have been modified. Beneath asset thumbnails in hover or Show Details mode, a status of unreleased is indicated in the release date field for unreleased assets and an expiration date is indicated in the expiration date field if an asset is expired. Streamlined Uploading User Interface Changes
A streamlined upload process has been added to reduce the number of clicks users must make to upload a file. In addition, the addition of the Upload button increases visibility and allows users to upload assets from wherever they are on their DAM site. Upload Versions or Overwrite Assets
Users with upload permission may now upload versions or overwrite assets (depending on site configuration) directly from the Asset Details page. Filenames do not need to match to version or overwrite files. View more details and a demo of uploading versions on our Collective Support page.
Order Pickup Page User Interface Changes
When users click the Download Available button on the order Pickup page, a ZIP file will be created for the conversion formats of assets that have completed processing. This increases performance for large files and does not on stall erred files. When users return to the Pickup page, they can download the entire order.
When users click the Download button for individual assets on the order Pickup page, conversion formats will display a processing status until the download for the format is available.
