New Widen DAM mobile app offers fast searching and high-quality previews for users in the field
With the Widen Media Collective version 7.0 release, Widen has released version 1.0 of its new digital asset management (DAM) mobile application for iOS devices and a mobile site for iOS and Android devices. We’ve aimed to provide optimal searching and asset viewing experiences for users to quickly access images, videos, collateral and presentations from their iPad, iPhone or Android devices. For example, a furniture rep who is showing new products to a customer can quickly pull up a collection of images for his or her presentation with a tap of the finger using his or her mobile device.
Key features of the Widen DAM mobile app version 1.0 include the ability to:
- Easily access to collections and categories
- Search across all assets and sort and filter search results to customize the results
- Quickly see metadata or view product specs to ensure you find the right assets
- View retina-quality previews for beautiful presentation of assets
- Zoom in on assets to highlight fine details
- Review multipage PDF files and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents with HTML5 previews
- Watch full-length videos and listen to the audio of your assets
Over the next several weeks, Widen will continue to add mobile app functionality, like the ability to create and manage collections, share assets, and upload assets, as well as the ability to execute common administrative tasks, like approving orders and user registrations.
Additionally, the entire web-based Media Collective is fully functional on iOS and Android devices. Power users who enjoy the ability to upload assets, edit metadata, review and comment, approve users and asset orders, and send or share assets in a batch can do so using the full Media Collective. Large buttons and user interface elements are in place that optimize the “tap experience.”
iOS App Available in the App Store
The download of the mobile app is streamlined from the User Preference page in a customer’s DAM site. With one tap, easily generate an email and access it on your iPad or iPhone to quickly download the app and log into your user account.
The iOS app is also available for download in the App Store at iTunes.com/app/WidenDAM.
